Blackboard maintenance occurs every Sunday 7-9am. During these 2 hours you will not be able to log into Blackboard. We apologize for any inconvenience.
The Blackboard DBA’s will be performing extended maintenance on Sunday, March 8th. The extended maintenance will start at the regular 7:00 AM scheduled time and is scheduled to be concluded by noon. During the extended maintenance period Blackboard should remain operational. However, as a precaution, the Blackboard support team recommends that students not attempt online exams during the following times: Sunday, March 8th from 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM. The team's Learning Technology Administrator will be contacting ProctorU regarding online exams for the School of Business and will ask that they reschedule any exams that are scheduled to be proctored during that period.
The Blackboard DBA’s are taking the extended maintenance time to implement a series of vendor recommended hardware and software changes to the Blackboard server environment. The server changes will introduce additional redundancy into the Blackboard server environment to safeguard against a server failure similar to what we experienced during the weekend of February 20. The Blackboard support team is continuing to work closely with both the hardware and software vendors to identify additional opportunities to improve the resilience of the Blackboard environment in case of a future hardware or software failure.
Blackboard was officially returned to service at ca. 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, February 24, 2015. Students who have questions regarding missed assignment/activity deadlines or tests/quizzes/exams should contact their instructor(s) directly. Instructors who would like assistance in changing availability periods and/or due dates should contact the Support Center at 281-283-2828 or SupportCenter@uhcl.edu. A help ticket will be created for instructor requests for assistance and those tickets will be assigned to the Blackboard support staff in the order in which the requests arrive.
